Expander is a filmproduction based in Berlin. Besides films made in collaboration with artists shown in exhibitions and museums around the world, Expander accompanies projects for many cultural institutions, contributes features for television, develops stage design in theatre plays and produces documentary films.

We also offer professional postproduction like color grading, sfx and animation as well as illustration and graphic design work.

Stefan Schmied has a background in theatre and studied cultural science und film. Lilli Kuschel and Mikko Gaestel both graduaded as »Meisterschüler« at University of Fine Arts Berlin and create video installations and experimental film as their own artistic work. Among others they were exhibited at Transmediale Berlin, Architecture Filmfestival Rotterdam, Contemporary Art Museum Wien, Bremerhaven Art Museum and Goethe Institute New York.
